Named after the American banker and gem enthusiast J. Pierpoint Morgan, morganite is pink-colored beryl and this color is present due to manganese impurities in it. It has a vitreous luster and the first specimen was found in California, USA.
Locations:
Some of the best morganite comes from Madagascar. Brazil produces pure pink crystal and some other locations include Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Pakistan and Italy.
